Journey Into Mindfulness
February 1 - March 22, 2021
In this 8-week course, you will increase your ability to be mindful—that is, calmly and non-judgmentally aware of the present moment—in all corners of your life. Drawing on current neuroscience and ancient spiritual wisdom, we will explore how various mindfulness practices (including different meditations) can bolster your health, steady your emotions, enhance your relationships, enliven your work, change your habits, expand your compassion, and deepen your gratitude. Participants will be asked to commit to a 10 min. per day minimum mindfulness practice. Guidance in choosing a practice and establishing a routine will be provided for those who wish it.
There are two ways to take the course, to suit your particular needs.
Classroom Option
This option includes:
(1) A weekly teaching video
(2) A weekly guided meditation
(3) A weekly PDF with lesson outline, questions for reflection, and resources for going deeper
(4) A weekly one-hour online class session, on Monday evenings, led by Andrea. Each class session opens with a relaxation and grounding exercise. Andrea then presents some additional information on the topic. This is followed by focused discussion and Q&A. At the close of the session, Andrea reads a hand-picked poem or benediction.
To foster optimal learning and connection between participants, class sizes will be kept small. Thus, space for the classroom option is limited.
Self-Study Option
This option includes:

(2) A weekly guided meditation
(3) A weekly PDF with lesson outline, questions for reflection, and resources for going deeper
